Title In Hand

What the owner should bring to County Clerk's office:

  1. Vehicle Title and release of lien if applicable.

  2. Two proofs of identification ( More Information )

  3. Two proofs of residency ( More Information )

  4. The fee for a title and purchase of a standard passenger license plate is $65.50

* (The new plate will be vaild for one year from the month purchased)
* (Sales Tax may also be applicable)

If Military the following documents are also required:

  • Current orders stationing you in the state of Tennessee

  • Current End of Month (LES) Leave and Earnings Statement

    • If home of record on the LES is Tennessee the title and registration is $65.50

    • If home of record on the LES is not Tennessee the title and registration is $35.00

If not stationed in the State of Tennessee you must bring proof of sales tax. You may be responsible for additional taxes.
