The Chaplain’s Office at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office provides spiritual and emotional support and pastoral care to employees of the Sheriff’s Office and their families, inmates, and members of the community. The Chaplain’s Office also performs death notifications for inmates when loved ones pass away while they are incarcerated and participated in educational programs sponsored by the Office of the Sheriff. The Chaplain’s Office is staffed by Senior Chaplain Ted Denny, D.Min., Chaplain Emmett Sexton, and a number of volunteer assistant chaplains who assist with religious services or who may be called in during particularly difficult times.
