The Sheriff's Office is responsible for serving all writs, subpoenas, child support
orders, civil warrants, summons, levy's, garnishments and a multitude of other civil
processes. In addition to those orders issued by the courts of Montgomery County,
the Civil Process Division also serve any civil process issued by any court of competent
jurisdiction all over the world.
In 2004, the division returned over 22,395 process to the courts. Additionally,
as a service to the community, the division escorted over 300 funerals. The Sheriff's
Office also handles criminal warrants issued by the courts from all over the country.
The division also handles in and out of state extraditions. In 2004, the division
received a total of 19,967 and was able to successfully serve 14,511.
