Minor Plat Completion

After you have received your Minor Plat...

Please find below items required by the Montgomery County Building & Codes Department before you may obtain a Building/Placement Permit:

• Septic Tank Permit: Septic tank permits are obtained at the Environmental Division of Ground Water Protection, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 309, 553-5181. We require an approved copy of the septic permit that shows the layout of your septic system.

• Culvert/Road Damage Bond: Contact the Montgomery County Highway Department, 1213 Highway Drive, 648-5740. If you are on a State Highway, contact the State Highway Garage. **NOTE: The Highway Dept. is closed on Fridays.

• Recorded copy of the Minor Plat with all required signatures. The recording of Minor Plats and deeds is done at the Register of Deeds office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 101-C, 648-5713.

• If the property has changed ownership, we must have a copy of the recorded deed. The property owner or licensed contractor is the only individual who may obtain the Building/Placement Permit.

• If a new parcel number is required, this can be obtained by taking a copy of the recorded minor plat to the Tax Assessor's office, 350 Pageant Lane, Suite 101-C, 648-5709. If the property has changed ownership, they will also need a copy of the recorded deed.

• Please make sure the correct address is on the recorded copy of the minor plat. If your minor plat doesnot have a designated area for an address, please inquire about your address at the Regional Planning Commission.

• Please make sure the zoning of your property is on the recorded copy of your minor plat.

• Adequate facilities tax.
