Montgomery County Building & Codes Committee

Authority

T.C.A. 5-1-115(d)(1), Montgomery County Resolution 96-7-5, Resolution dated August 14, 1995, and this Resolution, Number 98-1-10.

Purpose

(1) To give guidance and advice to the Enforcement/Building and Codes Department; (2) to conduct hearings requested by persons who have received notice pursuant to Montgomery County Resolution Number 96-7-5, by the Montgomery County Building Commissioner; (3) to decide whether the property in question is maintained in such a condition so as to violate Montgomery County Resolution 96-7-5;(4) to submit findings in writing to the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners and the owner of record of such property.

Membership

Five (5) members of the Board of County Commissioners nominated by the County Executive and approved by the Board of Commissioners. The Montgomery County Building Commissioner shall be an ex officio member of the committee.

Terms

Three (3) years. No member shall serve for more than two full three-year terms in succession. Terms of members shall be staggered so that the terms of committee members shall not expire at the same time. Terms shall expire in August.

Meetings

Quarterly, and at the call of the chairman or a majority of the members.
