Montgomery County Receives Three Star Award
Montgomery County Government was recently recognized for its community economic preparedness by the Department of Economic and Community Development, as a certified member of the Three-Star Program. This initiative, a Five-Year Asset-Based Strategic Plan, recognizes the importance of successful community development and its impact on sustaining economic growth. Communities that are designated in this program are held to high standards. Once certified, the program helps communities concentrate on strengths and address any areas of concern. Montgomery County is certified as a Benchmark Level III recipient. This designation brings grant opportunities as well as reductions in the local match for the Fast Track Grants. The goal of the Three-Star program is for communities to reach a point where they are prepared for sustainable economic growth.
This program is a very important initiative of the state’s economic strategy that works with communities to set goals that will have an immediate impact now, as well as for years to come.
