Officials recognized for work with vets' tax relief

The Retired Enlisted Association, Chapter 101, Screaming Eagles, on Dec. 3 awarded city and county property tax employees for their assistance in making "Veterans' Tax Days" in Montgomery County and the city of Clarksville a success.

Their actions allowed more than 120 permanent and totally disabled veterans and widows to apply for city and county property tax relief in one location.

Montgomery County Trustee Brenda Radford opened the Montgomery County Tax office from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, allowing disabled veterans and widows to fill out the required application. City Finance and Revenue Director Wilbur Berry and revenue technician Amy Black from the city were also on hand.

Submitted by Noel Pritzl.
